Rajiv Gandhi Salai or OMR, refers to the bustling 20 km stretch from Madhya Kailash junction to Siruseri. As its growth was primarily motivated by IT development, it has come to be known as the ‘IT corridor’.

OMR is easily accessible by both bus and train, and is situated just 12kms away from the airport. It is also connected to the entertainment corridor (ECR) and industrial corridor (GST) through link roads. The presence of a large number of offices and social infrastructural development including schools, hospitals, commercial hubs, retail outlets, malls, multiplexes, hotels and restaurants, has increasingly encouraged people to move into this area and its surroundings. OMR is also home to a large number of top universities.

A good majority of the population living here is employed in the IT/ITES sector, who chose to have a better quality of life by cutting down on commuting time. Easy access to areas such as Velachery and Adyar, have ensured that it is a smart investment decision. For those looking to rent, a continuous increase in supply of apartments, has resulted in a wider choice, at more competitive rates. In the coming years, OMR is set to become a highly developed sub city.
